We have all wondered how much our horse actually does weigh, especially after reading the directions to wormers and supplements or needing to give an injection. Now you will know for sure. Every veterinarian and barn manager should have one of these for the safety of our horses. Of course we can guess, but wouldn't you rather be accurate?

What Is Equi-Calc™?       A patented calculator using girth, height and length measurements estimates your horse's weight more accurately than any other method currently available.

Why Do You Need To Know Your Horse’s Weight?       It is critical for horse owners, veterinarians, trainers, and others involved in the care and management of the horse to accurately establish a horse’s weight and know how to determine horse weight. An accurate weight is required for medication dosing, nutrition and feeding requirements, training purposes, and general health monitoring of the horse. Accurate equine weight is vital for administration of wormers and other medications. Under-dosing of wormers may possibly result in parasite resistance and chronic health problems, while overdosing can result in colic and other health issues.

Why Is Equi-Calc™ The Best Choice?       Digital scales are the most accurate method for obtaining a horse’s weight, but they are not readily available. Visual estimation results in substantial errors even among the most experienced veterinarians and horsemen. Girth weight tapes take only one proportion into consideration in predicting a horse’s weight resulting in reduced accuracy, especially on horses that are not typically proportioned. The patented formula in Equi-Calc™ uses three measurements, girth, height, and length of a horse to predict weight, allowing for a more accurate estimate.

To determine your horse’s weight using Equi-Calc™, simply take the three measurements, enter them into the calculator, and the result is displayed immediately. Since your horse is important to you, shouldn’t you be using Equi- Calc™?

  • Most Accurate Weight Estimate Available From Miniature To Draft Horses
  • Easy To Use
  • Made In USA Equi-Calc™ Horse Weight Calculator
  • Horse Weight Calculator And included 120" Fiberglass Tape Measure

How Equi-Calc™ Works:

  1. The girth measurement is obtained by taking a measurement in inches around the heart girth of the horse with the measuring tape snug against the horse, following respiratory expiration. The tape is placed directly behind the elbows, the ends of the tape are overlapped, and the indicated girth distance is recorded. Take Girth Measurement:
  2. Take Height Measurement: The height measurement is obtained by taking the distance in inches from the ground to the top of the withers.
  3. Take Length Measurement: The length measurement is obtained by taking the distance in inches from the point of the shoulder to the point of the buttocks in a straight line.
  4. Estimate Weight Using Equi-Calc™: Once the three measurements are obtained, simply enter them into Equi-Calc™ and the weight estimate is immediately displayed!
